We worked on the yard today to get the leaves out ... until tomorrow. Our yard is very large with many trees. One good thing is that we don't have close neighbors, so there is no one that expects our yard to be leaf free or worries about our leaves blowing onto their yard.
Leaves by Elsie Brady
How silently they tumble downAnd come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

I love the changing color of the leaves this time of year in the Midwest.
you are lucky on the neighbors. when our leaves change and fall they carpet the yard with such beauty and color i hate to rake them. don't they look much better than looking at the green lawn we look at all year. fall is my favorite time of year. i think we are about done here. it feels like winter coming quickly.
take care. ~janel
