Centerpiece

This is my new centerpiece for my dining room table.  I bought the glass dome and bird at Schaefer House in my local town.  They have great items for your home, jewelry and baby gifts.

Vinyl Lettering

My first vinyl lettering.  I bought this from "Creations by Kara" on etsy.  Very nicely priced and you can order either in black or white.  I had no problem whatsoever putting it up.

This is in my entryway.  The frame below the lettering is from a garage sale.  I'm planning on painting it black after it warms up outside.

On another subject, we are getting a lot of snow tonight.  I don't know if I will be able to shovel my way out tomorrow for work or not!

Winter Wonderland

It has been cooold this week!  This is a view from our back porch.  See the ice coming out of the gutter?  A beautiful icicle, just don't step underneath it!  The guttering will get finished once the weather gets better.

On an upcoming blog I'm going to post pictures of the building of the deck and sun room.  It's been an exciting project and I'm anxious for the room to be complete.

Cleaning Out and Organizing

January seems to be the month to clean out and organize.  This picture is my bathroom closet.  I didn't get a "before" picture, but this is how it looks now.  So glad to throw away some things and get organized.

My next project was my kitchen cabinets.  I did take a "before" picture of this project.  I threw away butter tubs, took out shelves and old linoleum that was used as a liner.  To help organize the area, we bought sliding double shelves that you can see in the "after" project.

My craft closet will be my next big project.  It may end up being more than a one day project.  Lots of crafting items, material, etc.  Hopefully having organization in this area will help me pick my next crafting project.

Game Night

Preparing for game night tomorrow night.  We've invited three couples over for snacks and games.  These are some the games we may be playing as well as Charades.  Really looking forward to the evening.

Snacks are lining up as:  Nacho dip and chips, veggies and dip, buffalo dip, pheasant roll-ups, pretzels, peanuts, caramel brownies, puppy chow, rice krispie treats, soda, tea and coffee.

Great way to start the year off!

Christmas Gifts

We had a wonderful family Christmas - enjoyed each others' company, ate too much, played "Balderdash", watched the granddaughters' play with their new toys, visited with extended family and just overall had a good time.

Here are a few pictures of items I received for Christmas.  My family was very generous and right on with what I love.  My husband bought me this sweater and boots.  Love, love them.  Comfy on a cold day.

My daughter and family bought me Toms shoes with Africa countries outlined on the shoes.  Very cool and comfy as well. If you are not familiar with Toms Shoes, they donate a pair of shoes to a child in need with every purchase.  I also received a photo book from 2009 of my daughter's family and what happened that year for them.  Fun pictures.

My son purchased an Amazon gift certificate for my husband and myself to use to purchase books for our Kindles.  My son and I purchased a Kindle and cover for my husband for Christmas so he could have one just for himself.

I'm looking forward to reading blogs about others' Christmas celebrations.  I have already begun the January clean-up and clean-out and will post on that soon.
