What Would You Do?

Don't miss ABC's "Primetime" Friday night, 9 p.m. CST. The show films people in different controversial situations and we see how they react to the situation. Help or turn away. Would you step up or step aside?

If you mistakenly receive too much change from a cashier, would you return it? How would you handle an obnoxious cell phone user or a waitress who shamelessly flirts with your boyfriend? With the help of actors and hidden cameras, these moral dilemmas are captured on film in ABC Primetime's provocative series "What Would You Do?" Tough issues like abuse, racism and crime are also part of the show.

Oprah showed a preview yesterday on her show and really made me want to watch this show. When people did step up and help someone, it made you feel very good about humankind. Many times though, the situations can be very difficult and possibly dangerous. I think this show will be a good choice for Friday evening TV.

Concert

My SIL played this weekend in Omaha, NE and Columbia, MO. We attended his concert in Columbia at Cherry Street Artisan. There was a large crowd (standing room only). His sister was debuting her new album as well at the concert. They both are very talented and enjoy writing and singing their own music. Check out Ross Christopher & the Familiar Voice website to hear his music.

My granddaughter had on a onesie that said "I'm With the Band"! She slept through the entire concert -- which was unbelievable because earlier in the day we were tiptoeing around to keep her napping!

Movie Review

Have you seen this movie? It was a very good movie. A very sad movie. It is a movie about a couple facing Alzheimer's together. Julie Christie (Dr. Zhivago) does a fabulous job in her role as Fiona.

My grandmother had Alzheimer's and I remember many of the stages that she went through. Asking me the same question that she just asked me was some of the beginning times that I remember. After I got married, she could not ever remember that I was married and who my husband was. To the end, where she could not speak at all and there was a blank look in her eyes. I miss her and I lost her so many years before she actually passed away.

On a lighter note, whenever I misspeak or forget something, my husband tells me I'm not far from Meadowlake (nursing home in movie)! Maybe we'll go together one day!

Bracket Winner

I meant to mention earlier in the week that I won my NCAA bracket! No $s on it, just a pride thing with my family. I not only had KU as the winner but I had them playing Memphis! Booyea! KU is usually an arch enemy, but when it comes to the tournament, I usually try to advance the Big 12 Teams as much as possible. KU definitely had an awesome team this year.

Now on to watching the Cardinals play baseball. They are currently in first place in their division. Albert Pujols (my favorite player) is doing great. My granddaughter, Cora, attended her first game and this picture shows her pouting because they walked Pujols! She'll be cheering before we know it!

Multiples

I love watching Jon & Kate Plus 8! Why is that? I really like to watch all of the multiple children shows. Maybe because I can watch and say, "Wow, I'm glad that's not me!". I've watched this show enough times that I feel I really am getting to know their kids. My husband thinks Jon is a saint!

On their most recent shows they are taking the children on individual trips so they can have one on one time with each one. That is such a great idea and not for just families of multiples. Even if you have two children, take them out individually. You both will enjoy the time alone.

Conference

Last week I exhibited at a conference for my office. There were many great booths and in particular I met the owner of "The Three Squares" and wanted to pass along her website to the moms that view my blog.

Team Up! For Your Toddler’s Health is a DVD developed by The Three Squares, a division of Just A Mom Marketing (JAMM), LLC. JAMM is committed to the development of age-appropriate products and services designed to make learning about the importance of proper diet, exercise and sleep a shared activity that is both fun and easy for parents and young children. The owner was a fun lady and I know will be easy to work with in ordering this DVD.

Prior to leaving for the conference and after I returned, I finished my first purse. I looked online for instructions and bought the material and gave it a try. I like how it turned out and plan on using it today as I shop. I would like to have a monogram added as well. Possibly brown thread near the top.

I'm ready to go out and buy some more material and try another one. The next one I will turn the opposite direction and be longer in length than in height. I am thinking about buying some yellow and black material for the next purse. I'll have to see what I can find and what material jumps out at me!
