My husband went to a Papa/Princess Dance held by our local school and took a sweet girl from our church. She really looked like a princess!
At the dance they took pictures, painted nails, decorated a frame for their picture, wrote love letters and .... danced. The girls really seemed to enjoy the afternoon.
The young lady really loved to have her nails painted and even talked my husband into getting his painted ... now that's a first! You can tell he'll do about anything for this sweet girl!
He was very worried that he'd have a wreck or get pulled over by a policeman and have to explain the nails!

Hot Springs, Part 2
Part of our trip to Hot Springs included golfing and antiquing. This is Belvedere Golf Course. Rand enjoyed golfing and the weather was not bad at all ... a lot warmer than home!
This is one of the first stores we visited and it was crammed filled with furniture and dishes. I just felt like there was something in there that I needed but I couldn't uncover anything. We visited several stores and I believe Rand bought more than I did!

Hot Springs, Arkansas
We visited Hot Springs Arkansas a few weeks ago and had a mini-vacation. This is a view from the overlook drive. It was a little cloudy, but still a great picture.
We visited the Hot Springs National Park and took a tour of the bathhouse. It was very interesting.
Too bad we didn't take time for a bath and massage ourselves. We did take some water back with us from the hot springs and shared with some friends. The thermal waters are legendary both for their unique beauty and medicinal value. The water is believed to have mystical healing powers. I feel so much better already!

Girlies
My granddaughters are coming for a visit this weekend and Nana and Papa get to keep them by themselves. Yeah! We are excited and can't wait. We're going to have a great time -- let the spoiling begin!
On a total different subject ... I'm watching "American Idol" and enjoying many of the singers. Great group this year. It will be interesting to see who wins this season.
Lent begins today. Our church is listening to the New Testament through "Faith Comes by Hearing". We each received a CD and are listening everyday to passages designated for the next 40 days. Today was Matthew Chapters 1-7. My prayer is that the Lord keeps me dedicated to listening to his word.

Crazy Weather
It has been pretty warm this week and today we had 60 degree weather, but we also had a hail storm! It came down really hard and lasted about 15 minutes. A lot of rain and thunder as well. The hail was grape size and just layered our yard and back porch. So much hail that we had to shovel it off the porch.
We also had a river running down our yard. I haven't seen that before. The weather warmed right back up after the hail storm. Very strange weather.

Little Rock
We took a small vacation and traveled to Hot Springs Arkansas. We were looking for warmer weather! On our way we stopped in Little Rock.
We like to visit capitols in each state that we visit. This one is particularly beautiful. We also went inside and looked around. It is very similar to Missouri's.
