What?

This very strange thing happened to me yesterday. I was in the restroom at a grocery store and this transpired.

Unknown woman: Handicap stalls are only for the handicap. You should have a wheelchair to be in this bathroom.

Me: Not saying a word but also not in a handicap stall. Quickly goes to wash hands.

Unknown woman: Comes out of stall with her jeans down to her knees and says "see my scar". Showing me a scar that is in her bikini area.

Me: Still not saying a word and looking the other way and trying to quickly depart.

Unknown woman: You are not going to even say hi.

Me: Thinking OMG. Saying: Sure, I'll say hi. Departs quickly.

I'm really not sure what happened there. Very strange. Not sure if I could have handled that differently but I was trying to figure out the whole time what in the world was going on.

Glamour

Glamour Girl! Attending a graduation party over Memorial Weekend.

She is keeping a bow in her hair and sunglasses on her face. Yeah!

Her arms look a little red but she had sunblock on and stayed in the shade most of the day. Her mom says she gets a little red like that when she is outside in the heat. Couldn't see any red later that day.

We thoroughly enjoyed Cora's 3 day stay with Grandma and Grandpa while mommy and daddy were on their Babymoon.

Yes, babymoon. Cora will be welcoming a new baby sister the first of October. We are very excited and thrilled.

Favorite Drink

Currently my favorite fast food restaurant to go to between 2-4 p.m. is Sonic. Half price drinks! I just love their commercials too. Hilarious.

My favorite drink right now is Diet Cherry Limeade with a splash of vanilla. My daughter suggested that I try this drink and I reluctantly did (not usually a big cherry fan). She hit it right on the nail -- great drink! I'm trying to save on my calorie count and the more diet drinks that I like, the better...now if I can just slow down on the chocolate!

Concert

My SIL (in picture) and daughter are headed to Chicago this weekend for a short vacation as well as SIL has a concert at "The Birds Nest" on Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m., playing with Valentiger. If you live in the area -- check out his concert. Also check out his website and listen to his songs and see when he is on tour.

The other good part of this story is we get to keep Cora for the entire weekend! Spoiling shall commence.

Toy Haven

What won't I buy for my granddaughter to play in? Grandma and Grandpa's basement is toy haven.

I found this fun "Gumball Playland" at a garage sale. We washed all the balls in the washer and my husband blew it up with his air compressor.

I wonder if Grandma can crawl in there with her?!

Mother's Day

Finally my update on Mother's Day. This week has been fairly hectic.

I spent Mother's Day with my mom and dad. We went to church with them and then lunch at Cracker Barrel. My daughter let me borrow Cora and show her off at my hometown church. Cora looked so precious in her little navy sailor dress. She was so very good for Grandma. She went to the nursery at church with excitement over the new toys to play with and then sat in my lap during church with her head laying against me and then fell asleep during the sermon.

Cora made Grandpa's day when she woke up Sunday morning and said Pappy. She is saying more and more words and trying to say whatever you ask her to.

For Mother's Day, my children gave me some really nice gifts. The dishes to right came from my daughter. I have recently bought new white dishes and this will work so well with the dishes as serving pieces.

My son mailed personalized M&M's to me. They said "I Love You Mom" and "Happy Mother's Day". They were pink and white. I tried to take a picture but they turned out blurry and now they are all gone -- yum yum.

National Nurse's Week

National Nurse's Week is May 6-12. Last day to show my appreciation. I made these cupcakes and taking to my fav nurses. Every Tuesday evening I volunteer in our local hospital in the OB Unit.

I help out with the front door - letting in visitors to visit the parents and baby, collect laundry and deliver to laundry chute, recycle their paper, and any other miscellaneous tasks they have for me.

I work with some great nurses that are very hardworking and conscientious. Great job ladies!

Most everyday I spend my lunch hour checking out my fav blogs, Facebook, reading and drinking down my Slimfast. Sometimes I even catch a short nap. Oh the excitement!

Crocheting

I bought this bright pink yarn at a JoAnn Fabric's store that was going out of business. Great price for this Angel Hair yarn.

I decided to crochet a baby afghan for my daughter's friend. She and her husband are adopting their first baby and in fact, before I could get the afghan completed, the little baby girl, Olivia, was born.

I really enjoy crocheting. I can watch a movie, a Cardinal game, etc. and crochet row after row.

This afghan is called "Pattern Stitch Afghan".

Song Lyrics

Coming home from church tonight, the song from Casting Crown "Who Am I" came on the radio. I love this song and the lyrics really speak to me. Casting Crown is one of my favorite groups.

Lyrics:
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours..
I am yours..

Garage Sale Find

I love this white metal colander I found at a garage sale. It will look great on my bar with lemons in it or maybe I'll use it for its intended use! Only paid $2.
