Design Star
I enjoy watching HGTV "Design Star". I have it on DVR so I watch it when I get a few minutes to sit down. Each and every designer really amaze me. Of course, I have my favorites or maybe I have my least favorites ... Nina! The show inspires me, even though most of what they do wouldn't work in my home, but it still sparks ideas.

Grill for Father's Day
A new grill for my hubby for Father's Day. Of course, he is the one to assemble! We are loving it. Love to grill outside in the summer months. It is a Char-Broil. The grill has six burners including a sear burner and a burner for heating sauces.
We spent Father's Day with my parents. We woke up early and traveled to my hometown and went to church with my parents and then ate lunch with them and had homemade ice cream and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Love me some homemade ice cream!
I spent the day with two of my favorite dads. My dad and my hubby.

Baseball Friday Night
Went to my nephew's ballgame Friday night. We took my husband's mother as well so she could see her grandson play ball. It was a nice evening with the nephew's team winning by several runs.
I like taking my camera along to the fields to catch a few shots each year. Since our kids are grown and not playing sports any longer, this is our substitute. He did a good job and glad that he enjoys playing baseball. Won't be long before he is playing High School baseball like his dad.

Upcoming Trip
My husband, son and I are traveling to Kenya this summer. My husband has been twice before on a mission trip from our church. We are also going on a mission trip. Seven people are on the team. My husband and I are the oldies senior members. While there, we will be working with an orphanage.
To prepare for the trip, I have been reading: "Foreign to Familiar" by Sarah Lanier and "Hope Lives, a Journey of Restoration" by Amber Van Schooneveld. Both very good books and good preparation for the trip.
I am also making crayon cozies for all the children at the orphanage. I need to make about 15. These are fun to make and hopefully won't take me long to get them finished. I still need to purchase the crayons to go inside of the cozy.
I'm really looking forward to this trip but am a little anxious about the flight there. My longest trip so far on a plane has been to Hawaii. I will just need to be good about getting up every few hours to walk around and stretch my legs. Also, will need to bring a lot of reading material and hopefully will be able to sleep on the flights. I'm looking forward to blogging about our trip once we have returned.

Lil' Baby Olive
This is a picture of my granddaughters, Cora and Olive. This was taken at Maramec Spring Park. We spent a wonderful day at this beautiful park with our daughter and family. Feeding fish, fishing, swinging, and touring the park. Cora is very sweet with Olive and enjoys loving on her sister.
Last week, little Olive ran a high fever for six days and my daughter had Olive into the pediatrician's office twice. The second time, the doctor wanted Olive in the hospital. Scary. She stayed two days and the tests concluded that she had a kidney infection. Poor baby. She had an IV in her foot, which was so sad to see. She was a trooper and the medicine worked with her really fast and she was feeling better with no fevers very quickly.
During this time, Cora came and stayed with us. We had a great time with her. She even went to the wedding (in my previous post) with us. She is turning into a little girl instead of a toddler. She has such a big vocabulary and is already potty trained. Where does the time go? We can't wait for Cora and Olive to come back and see Nana and Papa.

Last Wedding this Summer
We attended our last wedding of the summer this past Saturday. My cousin's daughter. The wedding took place at the Vineyard at Riverbend Chapel, a beautiful location along the Missouri River in Washington, Missouri. This was a great photo opportunity for the photographer and everyone else with a camera! They are a very sweet couple and I am happy for them as they begin their bright future together.

Craft Projects
I've been working on several projects - mostly gifts for friends and family. I really enjoy craft projects. I am currently working on a baby afghan. The yellow/aqua afghan is completed and I've started another one. I've also recently finished the ties on the onesies for on upcoming baby shower and a makeup bag and tissue holder for my mom's birthday. I found some quilt looking material to use and this fits her as she is a quilter. Another recent gift was a decoupaged "G" for my niece's graduation and the last picture is a tray that I spray painted and then decoupaged for an upcoming wedding. My next projects are: covering a piano bench, crayola caddies, baby booties and a baby dress. Now if I just didn't need to go to work every day!
